Second Saturday at Discover California!
Saturday August 11th - Starting at 4 p.m.
"Cliff's Critters"
For years, Cliff Brackett, has been taking photographs of nature. While he has his share of landscape and senic views, his real passion are creatures that "live" in the forms and structures of nature. These faces and shapes occur naturally in trees, rocks and even in the earth itself. These creatures have inspired his upcomming book "The Search for the Hornswaggler Egg." In this show Cliff will share some of his favorite "Critters" that you too, will surely come to love.

Did You
Know........
There's
a little
story
behind
the
champagne
glass,
dating
back to
Greek
mythology.
The
first
"coupe"
was said
to be
molded
from the
breast
of Helen
of Troy.
The
Greeks
believed
that
wine
drinking
was a
sensual
experience,
and it
was only
fitting
that the
most
beautiful
woman
take
part in
shaping
the
chalice.
Centuries
later,
Marie
Antoinette,
Queen of
France,
decided
it was
time to
create a
new
champagne
glass.
She had
coupes
molded
to her
own
breasts,
which
changed
the
shape of
the
glass
entirely,
since
Marie
Antoinette
was -
shall we
say-
better
endowed
than
Helen of
Troy.
